Increase Page Rank With Your Onsite Store
If you had to pick one person who knows more about Page Rank than anybody who is not getting a paycheck from Google that person would be Leslie Rohde from Stompernet.
First, we present a summary of Leslie Rhode’s Rules on how Page Rank is distributed, and Second we explain why having the right kind of onsite store will increase your Page Rank.
Rule #1: Make More Pages.
As Leslie explains in his original work, links do NOT create PageRank (no matter WHAT you may have heard otherwise). The only thing that creates and holds PageRank is a web page. Because there is only a finite amount of PageRank available to share among all the pages in Google’s search index the more pages that you have on your site means that you get a bigger chunk of that PageRank Pie.
Rule #2: Your Competition Dictates How Much PageRank you Need.
Go to Yahoo (not Google) and do a site search for your own site and for the competitors ahead of you in the Google index. Here is how (without the quotes) “site:yourdomain.com”, “site:yourcompetition.com”, “site:yourcompetition.com”, “site:yourcompetition.com”.
Rule #3: Improve links between your pages.
Rule #4: Balance your time and effort between 1 and 3.
You want to link as many pages on your site to those pages that can make you money, and use rel=”nofollow” on internal links going to pages that cannot make you money and every link going off your site. Think of it this way – each link to another page leaks Page Rank from the page giving the link and adds Page Rank to the page getting the link. “nofollow” stops the leaking.
If that’s confusing, the good news is that almost all this internal linking stuff gets done automatically in Wordpress with the right plugins. The sites we sell on Buy An Internet Home Business all have these Wordpress plugins installed and in use.
Here’s the Second Part.
The stores on the websites we make are all onsite. Since you control the number of products you offer in the stores, then you control the number of pages on your site – every product category is from 1 – 1000 potential additional pages. When you review products in your store with a Wordpress post and link to them you are providing Google with a pathway into your store. Bottom line is that after a short time of doing product reviews you can have thousands of pages on your website indexed in Google.
Refer back to Leslie Rohde Rule #1.
An Amazon Astore is NOT on your site. You get zero Page Rank benefit.
